MCYS TVC Funeral

1st question: Why mixed couple?

Using a mixed couple is more effective because it shows harmony between each race. It also shows that there is no boundaries when facing love. Adding to that, it could also means that  they are learning more about each others' culture. This helps improve the knowledge of one's other culture. A mixed couple means a unique couple whereby they sort out their social differences to be together which equals to sacrifices.

2nd question: Why did she concentrated on the bad traits?

She concentrated on her husband's bad traits because that is what people would normally take notice of, negatively. This shows that she has a different opinion of her husband and that, she knew him like no one else did. People usually will take notice of other people's flaws. However, in this case, she had converted his flaw as something a part of him which is something dearly. To be able to love them truly; is to being able to accept them their flaws. It is those small imperfections of theirs that makes them feel complete of what they really are.

3rd question: Do you think it is effective to promote family value?

Yes. Firstly, there was a connection between both races. Clearly, it meant being able to stick together no matter what. There's a saying; blood is thicker than water. Secondly, the lady showed intense emotion towards her late-husband. She must have been a good actress. Clearly, it shows how deep the relationship with someone you love is. As how a family should be; to have a strong relationship with your family members. Thirdly, the acceptance of a family member fully. Clearly, all family members will have to accept what they are because they will be together for a long time unless when going overseas or migrating. Basically, the lady accepted her husband's strengths and weaknesses gracefully with pure love.

My favourite cartoon character

My favourite cartoon character is Patrick Star. Firstly, I would want to say that what comes to most of you people's mind is; "Hey, isn't that a stupid starfish?" However, does it matter if you've got the brains or not? Does it matter if you've got a weird best friend? Does it matter if you've got a odd-looking house? NO, IT DOES NOT MATTER AT ALL.What matters is what actually truly comes from the heart and from this I shall quote, "Knowledge cannot replace friendship. I'd rather be an idiot than lose you." from Patrick Star. He might have been a 'clever' starfish at that point of time because I believe he knows how to express himself. However, when he is back to his former self, he kept it to himself if I'm not wrong.

Ignorant as he may seem,
don't be deceived by his stupefied looks.
For never judge a book by its cover,
but it can never be helped.

Admiration should be taken noticed of,
and not some kind of intelligence.
It does not take a great mind to know what's so special,
especially when it comes to friendships like his and Spongebob.

I do not think I am in any way like that character. At all. I'm not as lowly educated as him; I do not have poor living conditions like him; I don't have a best friend unlike him. He is the opposite of me and I totally respect that. It amazes me on how interesting it could really be especially when viewing from a different point of perspective.

Unseen poetry

Okay so basically, whatever unseen poetry I had been given from Miss Maly is confusing. It takes a lot of effort to think and feel like the character in the poem itself. However if applied to a daily basis concept whereby me, as a student, have to come across people from different backgrounds and are supposed to mix with them. I believe that this learning from literature is very useful, not only on papers but through communication as well. Unseen poetry many be confusing but if a student is given more time to be able to understand it clearly with a better deeper mindset of that character.

Romeo and Juliet play

So basically, for Romeo and Juliet play, my group has already tried out the space that is approximately 10 feet which we were entitled to during the real exam. We already know our roles and what we are supposed to do. Almost everybody but Benvolio were there. I believe we are on the right track. :D

I guess what we needed to improve on is just the timing, maybe. Especially the costumes as I think that we have not yet finalised some of the characters' costumes. Other than that, I guess we are just fine. Maybe a good pass but not excellent. Everything living on Earth has flaws :o

I find the Romeo and Juliet performance project very exciting and interesting. To me, as a lit student, it helps to better communicate with the other team members. Even at the most difficulty part of involving everyone in the play. The director has made the most sacrifice as she had to make time to direct the other team mates. I find everybody awesome in my literature R&J group.

Week 9 of Term 1 xD

And so, I'm going to update my Literature blog again about MacBeth again. Anyway, I'm going to explain and/or write about it in this sequence.

1: What is 'MacBeth' about?
2:Pick a favourite character. Justify.
3:What can you learn from 'MacBeth'?

The story of MacBeth started with three witches who came to meet and decided when they shall meet again but this time with MacBeth. When the war was taking place and was soon to be over, Captain went back to the castle where King Duncan was. He came to inform King Duncan the important events that took place during the war. He also told King Duncan how brave and merciless MacBeth was when he won the war. Then, about the second war from the Norwegian King after the MacDonwald war which in the end, both wars were won by MacBeth. And there was this man, Thane of Cawdor, who was a traitor. Afterwhich the Thane of Ross came to inform that the Norwegian King wanted his army men buried. However, he got to pay $10 000. And lastly, MacBeth won the title that once used to be Cawdor's.

MacBeth. His character traits of being brave and yet merciless. I admire him for having such a tough life yet he could still survive. It's a pity knowing the future because it could affect the mental state as knowing the future can make you think of what you're going to do. Despite that, he showed great perseverance in avoiding it till everything falls to the other worthy man who killed him in the end. Being merciless is tough. To be in such a state is also hard. Controlling the country ain't child's play. There was a huge responsibility ahead of him but he didn't let nature take its course. He was an impatient man. However, he did try his best to control the country. Well, there's a first time to everything right? You can't expect a man who just killed a King to be a perfect good hearted future king like King Duncan right? So don't expect things from people too much because you're only going to disappoint yourself.

I can learn to be brave when facing a problem because it ain't going anywhere but my head. Sometimes, being merciful isn't the best option but who are we to not do so? Anyway, we should learn not to be like MacBeth as he is an easily influenced man which is dangerous for teenagers like us.

Thank you very much for reading this blog post! Please do have a very nice day! :D

All hail MacBeth!

On the previous lesson, the whole of 2Respect revised the text on Act 1 Scene 2. It was about this Captain who came to inform King Duncan about the recent wars. Firstly, he told him that Macdonwald have been defeated by MacBeth and his army despite the Lady Luck always by his side. Secondly, ever since the first war against Macdonwald ended, the Norwegian King planned to steal the chance of attacking MacBeth with fresh new troops. And again, MacBeth ruled the second wave of war though their defenses were weak! Due to this second war, Captain was seriously injured and was in need of immediate attention to his wounds which brought him honour. The Norwegian King wanted their men to be buried because if they didn't, it is considered as disrespect and also dishonour towards the country. The Norwegian King have to pay $10 000 for this.

I think that the Norwegians should be ashamed of themselves as they planned to attack an another country who is weaker in defenses due to an another war. If they believe they could win the war, at least show some pride by attacking the other country that has proper defenses despite it being stronger or weaker. In my opinion, they don't deserve respect.

Superstition

A few months ago, on a dark rainy night, I was walking back home alone along a deserted road when suddenly an auntie came hobbling towards me. She came to predict my future about myself losing my close friend. I was in a state of shock and clearly I didn't believe her. How do you expect yourself to believe an auntie who had a big mole on her cheek? I was nearly laughing my head off staring at it. =P

However, I honestly had an awful feeling about it. Could what the auntie mentioned be true? Anything is possible, I thought to myself. I kept asking myself why the auntie even came up to me. It was weird. For a second,I thought she was a witch in disguise or some kind. But the thing is, witches doesn't exist. Or so the experts said. We can never be too sure.

The prediction came too soon. When I reached home, my mother told me that my close friend was going to migrate to Australia. My eyes widened in surprise while my jaw dropped to the ground. It was unbelievable! How could my close friend not tell me before?! My mother somehow knew I would react that way. She tried to console me saying it's not the end of anything which was pretty true. I dragged my feet towards my room and laid on my comfy bed.

It was around midnight by then. I was laying on my back thinking whether I should call my friend when suddenly something strucked me. Didn't the auntie predicted what was going to happen just a few hours ago? o.O

Cinquain

The cinquain is easy to write. It is so because you can write basically about anything! I feel that everyone should try to write a cinquain to express themselves as this year's theme for Evergreen Secondary is Expression. However, there is a rule stating that the cinquain should be arranged as;

1st line: Noun/Topic
2nd line: 2 Adjectives
3rd line: 2 Gerunds
4th line: 1 Short complete sentence
5th line: Synonym

During one of the Literature lesson, Miss Malyanah told 2 Respect to write one about themselves. It was really fun as we get to reflect about who we are and what we want other people to know about ourselves. Mine goes like this;

Human.
Female. Honest.
Playing. Talking. Running.
I love cycling!
Earthling.

In literature, i believe there is no right or wrong answer as everyone will have a different view about everything. I want to learn more ways to express myself through writings.

Literature

Lit Lit Lit. This is what all this is going to be about. So deal with it.
